I got to ask you guys how would guys feel if you did a painting for example you put it up on an art galley for people to see. Then on the opening night people come see it and you are in the crowed and people don't know your the artiest that made the painting and most of those people don't really like your painting and say this person should stop making an ass of himself. How would you guys feel and what would you do.

I posted one of my poster in another forum and most people didn't really like it and it made me feel like my first time feeling failure should I do anything.

I'M going to say this as nice as I can Kyo45

FUCK - THEM - PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T LIKE IT THEY DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT IT never let other people make you feel like a failure. IF you like it as the artist then thats all that matters.

no in the end you shouldn't just give up because some random person or a nother bad mouths your work one everyone is diffrent to even if you feel its a failure. that doesn't mean theirs no chance i mean no ones perfect and if anyone says other wise....then their no where near perfect cuss a perfect person would know better then to bost about it... i love art work i used to be really good as a kid but i stoped drawing when some of my family died i lost my gift if you have somthing go with it also a little critisum is good. if someone says like some of the art needs to practice its ok but someone say they just need to up and quit without any effort is just apuling. they are people you don't even need to affliate yourself with. End of story Check and mate ^-^ >.>.....by the way i charge 200 dollors a letter for a lecture inclueding the letters to exsplain the pricing ^-^ and hte smile faces >.> don't forget tax hehehe >.>....but if you don't have the money ~.~.....i settle for a cookie ^-^

Art and beauty are in the eyes of the beholder.

Different people have different perspectives. Some enjoy certain aspects that others dislike. Not to mention, every person has their own unique style that cannot be replicated even by the greatest artists.

Don't let other ppl ruin your day. it's a common thing in life, so your going to have to deal with assholes alot. Just let it slide. Let karma do it's work.

Two sides to this coin:

The first is that as an artist, you need to have some confidence in your own work when you show it to others. That means both being able to accept that some people will just not get it (but be fair about it), and being able to look at your own work objectively through what analysis and constructive criticism others might offer. Even when something is awesome it might be able to have some improvement, and there are some people who will critique to death things they still love - BECAUSE they like it enough to pay that much attention to it! No matter what, be proud of what you've put together if YOU feel that what you've made is an accomplishment - that's the scale that counts. Satisfy yourself first, then you can deal with others' opinions.

The other side is that when the audience is collectively being an ass and not giving your work a fair shake, you need to be able to just roll your eyes and ignore them. When you show your art it's so that people can appreciate it, and if they're not appreciating your work then screw 'em - they don't deserve it!

Push button, Receive bacon.

I’d blast those meatbags xD and make a big work of art art out of the all. I hate critics.

Art and beauty are in the eyes of the beholder..

Dont beat yourself over this, some people will appreciate your work, others not so much. Not to mention that the bigger the ass, the less they know.

Constructive criticism can be good but I dont know if thats what you experienced. Just get over it forget about them and if it means so much to you practice and get better.

Your art should be purely about what it means to you. Don't let anyone make you stop expressing yourself. And if they have a problem with it, tell them to draw something better... if they feel like such damn experts..
