ENGLAND! the land of Harry Potter and truffles!

....but seriously, that's kinda hard question to answer. just don't move to Finland, life's just getting more and more expensive here.

the yanks start calling to god for high gas prices? Idiots. they have no idea of our prices
Liter of gas costs 1,5 euros (about 1,8 dollars) here

and I won't say anything about food prices

You really serious about moving to another country if the repub's win the election. Well if you are Thailand because if you just bring $1000 it will be re translated into a million the US dollar is worth a lot there from what i heard. You be living large.

You know, the anime in Japan will probably not have English subtitles, so unless you speak Japanese, you will be better off watching anime online.

You can try Sweden http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden
or Norway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway

Whats wrong with Canada, ehhhh? Their $ is worth more nowadays. Chances you get shipped off to Iraq, is very very low. You can legally have sex with Polar bears. Just not, loli ones. And once global warming really kicks in. Ontario will become the new OC. :laugh2:

This sounds like a huge case of "the grass is always greener on the other side" - paraphrased to "The other country's government is always less screwed up than your own."

Frankly, I dont like the direction the US is going either - there is something fundamentally wrong with some of the thought processes that dominate in Washington, and some serious cleansing is needed to weed out those who are good at nothing more than getting fat working the system... but that's just my perspective. And that's not even touching on the foreign policies that now have the international community collectively (from what it looks like anyway) thinking the US's international presence is more joke than capability. Our credibility is in the toilet. Again, my perspective.

But with that said, I dont know if moving will really solve the problem for you. You'll just figure out what problems and international stereotypes plague whatever your destination country happens to be, and get fed up there too... plus you'll be moving away from what family and friends you might have, so that support would be gone. That is, assuming you seriously are putting together the steps to move after November if the popularity cont- er, excuse me, election, does not go the way you want it to.

If you're NOT being serious and wanted humorous responses... er, sorry? :rolleyes1:

I hear Australia is nice this time of year.

Daeryn I agree with pretty much everything you posted . I don't think I could say what is wrong right now with are country on this site with out writing the longest post in history . The main reason I am planing to leave if john MCcain wins is CAN YOU SEE JOHN MCCAIN AS ANYTHING OTHER THEN A WAR PRESIDENT I can't. In my 27 years of life I have fought two wars and I won't fight another one. I know some people will call me coward but must people that call someone a coward have never fought.

Oh and my friends and family stand behind me my girlfriend is also ex military and she plans to move with me. Sorry if i added a little to much real world crap into this but keep telling me country's what you like about them whats you don't.

Oh yeah have you ever noticed that i have been a member longer then most people 2004 wow

I may not live in the US but if McCain wins I'm gonna have to move too I just got back from Iraq about an year ago and I have no intention of going back. Why? Because goverment here are a bunch of idiots who follow the US blindly into everything without thinking about it. If he does win I'll be goin to England with a few friends and my brother.

Move to Russia their economy is booming due to petro-dollers, state officials there are notoriously corrupt so you can bribe you way out of any legal troubles.

The population is also declining, especially amongst working age males so there's a good male - female ratio.:smilies16:

I just got back from New Zealand. The real estate prices are in-SANE but if you can afford it, pack your stuff and go. no matter where you go, anywhere in NZ, you will always be 30 minutes away from a beach, and even in the middle of winter, it only goes 2 below. God i want to go back XD

i personally say move to northen Ireland, dont really have to learn a new lanuage just pick up on the accent, its still part of the UK but thankfully the goverment seems to always over look Ireland so we're not screwed over by politics, fresh air, cheap beef, great accent, what more do you need.

Well, looks like you don't have to worry about that anymore. I'd go with England though, the pound is smashing all other currencies.
