I love batman.
Hes so dark and awesome.
but its so much discussion and comparing who's the better Joker.
but really Jack and Heath play two different kind of Jokers, you can`t compare them.
They have completely different style and expression.

Well, I guess this would be THE Dark Knight thread then.

Anyway, best Superhero Movie, period. Sadistic Joker is awesome, non-stop action scenes, and Two-Face was true to his )modern-day) core. Tricked people into thinking it would end earlier than it would, though.

But yeah, it was awesome. Better than other superhero movies I've seen so far.

Awesome omvie, a bit predictable in what the story/conflict was going to be but still awesome.

Did dent die at the end, they kinda left it ambigious.

I did indeed love this movie.

I had broken my ankle earlier in the week, and not even that would stop me from seeing the premiere on thursday night. And it was well worth it.

Just everything about it was awesome. And the way that the movie seemed to wrap around Joker, even more than Batman, was great.

Ive loved Batman, and I grew up on the first one, knowing every line, and obsessed with it as a child. So... Joker has always been my favorite villain.

I love the title "The Dark Knight" instead of having batman in it, makes it more mysterious.

I see no reason why someone would tell you not to see it.

The only fact that I can see someone saying that is... It is pretty dark and creepy to a point.

But overall, it's a very, very good movie.

As for the third movie... I don't think they should. Not saying that I hate the Riddler, but of all how this movie ended, there would be no decent way to continue it.

Heath's gone, which seriously was the best part of this movie. There is no way to top it. It's just going to continue like the old Batman movies, and we'll end up with a second Batman & Robin movie, with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing Mr. Freeze... They should just end it as it is, and let another generation try their hands at the franchise.

Fats McBastard
07-24-2008, 07:21 PM
well along with the riddler rumour it was stated that johnny depp should play the role. i think he'd make a great riddler.

Just watched the movie again for the second time, a bit boring, then again what movie isn't boring watching it the second time? Btw about the "rumor" Dent... *SPOILER*

He did die at the end, no breathing that people were saying, no movement whatsoever, nothing. Btw its great to see this thread alive for The Dark Knight

I think a third movie might be good, I mean as long as its Bale and NOlan doing it. My friends and me were debating opn who the next bad guy would be, Batman Begins bad guy's were super lame.

I would think Pengiun or somebody would be best for the next movie, a bad guy who can be a bad guy but still hide behind a legitimate public face.

Heath ledger made an amazing portrayal of the joker, which cannot be topped by anyone... period

Pretty much the best movie ever made. Ledger should get a posthumous Oscar for his Joker.

hadn;t seen the first one till it was on TV a week ago which really made me want to see this and i'm glad i did. Sad that Ledger died, he was the best man for the role of the Joker

Big Bone

This was a great movie, Ledger gave an amazing performance as the Joker. Although i would say Nicholson portrayed a totally different Joker in the original movie, he was a lot less serious and playful yet you could still sense a creepy and sadistic vibe from him. And i would also have to say Nicholson had the best face and freaky smile for the role of Joker without make up on, he just has a naturally freaky smile. lol

Well, GUndam_.. I don't have a clue to that, but I hope Dent like Joker Survives, too bad the actor died :(. It would be nice to have Harvey Two-Face to re-appear at next Batman movie, then followed with the Return of the Joker. Now as the Joker have been Locked up in Arkham for years. And escapes with help from the sweet crazy Psychologist Harleen Francis Quinzel, later known as Harley Quinn. And Yeah I hope she appears :P

She's spooky, and quite insane. ;D

I wouldn't mind fancy-jumping with her tho :P

And An Advise for yeh if you come with Spoilers, Write the spoiler lines in white color, so we have to draw our cursor over to selecting the phrase in able to see it :) And a Huge bald red? Warning, saying Spoiler, or sumthing :)

Since people hate beeing spoiled the ending aye, just like when I found out Rei was a {SPOILER IN WHITE!} "Angel/Clone/Goddess" Long before I sould have when watching Neon Genesis Evangelion :(

Having seen the movie all I really have to say is this:

It was a pretty good movie to say the least. I don't think that Ledger was the "best Joker ever" as he was being hyped up to be. But he did a good job.

I mostly felt that Ledger just lacked a good sadistic laugh that makes the Joker the Joker. Mark Hamil is still the only person who has truly pulled the Joker off perfectly in my opinion.

I liked it a lot. Unlike most of the blockbuster movies I've seen over the past year, it didn't feel rushed and segmented. However, it would of been nice if there was some closure on the Joker though.

BATMAN!

yeh, good stuff here...

Ledgers performance was brilliant... it wasn't lacking... but other actors I believe can be as brilliant. Ledger never had great roles, until Joker, so his talent was never untapped. But he's not an A-Lister. A-Listers (most) are brilliant actors...

I don't believe that if Nolan continues the trend of geting low list actors as villians... that the next villain if a 3rd move were to be realized would be good.

The franchise has enough buzz to allow Nolan to hire A-Listers. EZ.

Two things bugged me about the movie. The introductory School Bus escape... I mean WTF would the driver behind him jsut allow a bus coming from a bank with rubble all over be realistic? Also there were WITNESSES outside... really?

2nd... was the douche on the ferry. He made such a big deal about it... and then wimped out. Really?

I believe, Bale makes a great Bruce Wayne. He lacks the darkness of the Batman though. I'd still want him to take up the role if the 3rd movie is relized.

My things on the 3rd movie...

I'm rooting for riddler, bane, pengiun, catwoman, clayface... i like 'em all... Just no super obscure characters.

I'm rooting moreso on catwoman's importance. Bruce Wayne was always a mask (not the other way around) therefore with Rachel out of the way... Batman's persona dominates now. Catwoman has awlways been a lvoe interest in many continuities of Batman. I'd like it if they remained that true ... since they contined the mob continuity from Year One, Long Halloween, and Dark Victory. (of course its different! but they're similar and are based on such stories)

Also an incarnation of robin (and played out as Dark Victory did) would make me happy. I'm a fan of robin to some extent. I believe it is Robin who completes Bruces humanity. (one of the pieces at least) Dick Greyson is the reflection of Bruce Wayne...

Nolan always focuses on themes, Catwoman and Robin alone give a lot of themes to focus on. And possible plot lines...

The Penguin is also cool, just because it is Bruce Wayne gone array and evil? Think about it... its a rich evil guy who uses his money for evil. Where Brucey boy is a good guy who uses his money for good!

Clayface... obscure enough but an important character.

time to be unpopular woohooo

i thought dark knight was massively overrated. was a good film but nothing all that special... there were no real 'WOW THATS SO FRICKEN AWESOME' moments in the film... the battle at the end in the building was cool, but beyond that... nothing special. first film was better i thought.

and what happened to the whole 'lets make this more realistic' angle.. whered that go, that was the defining thing about the new movies, their realism (enhanced, yes, but the plan was to explain things and make it atleast kinda plausible...)

dont tell me that 40-whatever story fall was any more realistic than anything we saw in burtons films!! and the radar hooked up to his mask thing? 2 faces...er.. face? bit unrealistic overkill wasnt it?

either way, realism blows - i like the unrealistic angle in the movie, and now look forward to how nolan will do the third film ;)

and yeah, ledgers joker was EASILY the high point for the film, he did a great job, but i wouldnt say its oscar worthy... ill definately miss him though, and i think this was most definately his best and most memorable performance - he complete upstaged bale in the film.

i think the 'new' batman is at a crossroads... this is spiderman 2 - i just hope it doesnt go spiderman 3, if you know what i mean :(

he's the opposite of the white knight. also i dont think it has to do with his attitude being dark, its because his costume is dark and he's like a knight.
