I found these on a website and i can't believe there making a live action dragon ball z movie. I remember watching the Chinese version i like it. well I'm not sure when it going to come out all I know it should come out in 2009. I thought they were going to do the Dragon ball z the one with Piccolo, Vegeta and the others. This one looks like it going to be about Goku when he was just a kid and he just meeting everyone. I can't believe that my idol Chow yun fat is going to play master Roshi this is going to be interesting.

I've always been curious about this.
I remember back when I was in High School a few years ago, I heard rumors of such a movie, but it never really went through.
Wonder if theyre actually gonna attempt and finish this time around.

Well, it is Japanese...
Most things are a year or so old when they reach America, mainly...
But... maybe... This is... 20 years old...
Somehow...

I sooo want it to come out. I want it to be real...
Why?
Because it will be simply horrible, and I would love a good long laugh.

In my opinion making live action from sci fi, fantasy or any supernatural anime is a horrible idea.
Stuff like GTO or Clannad works tho...

That would be interesting to watch and see how good they can make an anime like dragon ball z look in live action.
this is going to bomb so badly... the humor you usually see in anime (especially the 'freak-out' stuff that dbz is full of) just can NOT be done in live action... not without looking embarassingly lame... stephen chows involvement in this is the ONLY reason ill even WATCH the thing when it comes out... i actually hope this completely tanks at the box office so that it'll make studios think twice about pumping out crappy live action americanised anime films.

I will have to agree that Stephen Chow being involved with the film is practically the only thing that is keeping me somewhat hopeful about this film.
I'm trying to reserve judgement til I at least can see the trailer to the movie...

The trailer sucked >_<
one guy in class have read Dragon Ball and he was almost crying...
after borrowing issues from Dragon Ball I must say it looked awkward, nothing looked anything like the Manga not even the dragonball they showed

What was he crying about that the movie is coming out or something in the book he read.

Guess I can't blame him for that but really could you remember a live action anime that was really good that came even close to the anime. When ever someone try's to make a live action anime they will always screw it up somehow.

Oh dear, Yun-Fat Chow is already that old? Time passes so quickly o_O
I wonder, why doesnt Stephen Chow take the leading actor place. He was always the leading actor in his movies.
I hope that will be funny, like Kungfu or Shaoling Soccer

But most of the live versions of films done from anime or manga are condensed as well as on shoe string budgets (in Japan). Some are even shot on video for goodness sakes. Death Note was quite good however. Video games have been spotty but anything by Uwe Boll is just plain bad. Mortal Kombat was pretty good even though they had to cut corners and tone down the violence. Toriyama okayed the film production so we'll just have to see how it goes. If they are foreseeing more movies then they have to start at the begining rather than the adult version of Goku to get non fans on board. Marvel is the king of comics turned movies these days. Will have to see how they do Thor since he was one of my faves back in the 60s...

I'm getting flash backs of the street fighter movie, unfortunately there is no Raul Julia to save what little credibility may be in there.

what are you talking about? Jean-Claude Van Damme was the best part of that movie.
of course you know i'm joking.
sure, lets get the french guy to play the american...
cant say im looking forward to this or ANY other live action anime films i know are being made... and i wont look forward too them until the people involved start treating them as great stories rather than easy money - cashing in on established fanbases.
oh wait, i am looking foward to battle angel, because its james cameron and i dont know many directors that take their stories and their filmmaking as seriously as he does - anything he does is going to be amazing.

I'm so disappointed at the fact that they are makin one of these but at the same time i'm excited. But i really won't know what to feel until i see a trailer or preview of it.
I just hope they don't ruin it. DBGT was such a dissappointment

Oh geez a Cowboy bebop live action movie great they sure will screw it up.
hehehe here something funny I came across on the anime invasion magazine I read long ago. They say that if Hollywood made some live action animes and they pick these actors to play the part because they thing they would be perfect for the role. Here one for Black Lagoon that I remembered
Rock would be played by Edward Norton because of his acting in Fight Club
Rey would be played by Kelly Hu from X men 2 as Lady deathstrike
Dutch would be played by Ving Rhames from movie Dawn of the dead
I forgot who would play the resat of the cast
