well I've never cried watching anime but some scenes nearly made me cry:

- When Kenshin and Kaoru die in the end of Samurai X Reflection
- Quite a few scenes in Ginga Nagareboshi Gin
- The end of Azumanga Daioh!

samurai x *the one after the manga series movie* very sad when kenshin dies with leprosy in karou's arms. Trigun for wolfwood, escaflowne when vulcan dies, desert punk when it seems like punk died

Kanon - The end of the story for each of the five heroines.

Clannad - The end of the story for Nagisa, Fuko, and Kotomi. Tomoyo and Kyou did not have as much character development in the anime, but their story is also quite sad and touching in the visual novel.

I have to say, I don't cry during... well anything, anymore...

But... In Gundam 08th MS Team, the ending was pretty emotional for me, cause I liked to relate with Shiro alot. And the extra ep in the dvd where they went adn looked for Shiro.

I like the rest of the series enough, but not nearly to say it was my favorite show or what not...

I just liked 08th MS team alot, mainly cause they all didnt have super suits, and it was a pain just to take out one zaku and such.

Grave of the Fireflies was the saddest anime I have ever seen; though, I found the end of Cowboy Bebop sad as well.

The end of Azumanga Daioh, and when Maes Hughes died on Fullmetal Alchemist. Why'd he have to go?

Clannad is without exception the only anime, manga, cartoon, live action, or irl thingy that has made me cry since i was like 10.
I hate crying, especially among others, so i rarely rewatch clannad.

Clannad is one of my favorite anime series, and I love the characters.

Kotomi always made me laugh. ^_^

Kotomi always made me laugh. ^_^

Kotomi is cute, eccentric-geniusy, has a nice rack and associates 'magic charm' with the summoning of horrid starspawn of H.P.Lovecraft mythos.
In other words: MOE!!!

Everyone keeps talking about this Clannad anime so I guess I better check it out . Only time I have cried while watching a anime was never im a MAN and men don't cry. I cant watch Samurai x or The voices of a distant star for some reason I get dust in my eye everytime but I don't cry .

I particularly liked the scene when Kyou ran up and hugged Kotomi, and then patted her head. Kotomi looked like she was about to cry. She is too cute! <3

The silent shy moe type.

Definitely the end of Air... there's no one alive who can watch that without bawling their eyes out.

Wolfwood dying in Trigun... it was more because of how Millie was crying though that made the scene so sad.

Azumanga Daioh... when Chiyo chan bowed to the school at the end

lots of sad moments in anime... that's what separates anime from 'cartoons'... emotion

Anime series also have a more solid plot and better character development.

The episode of .hack//SIGN when Subaru is badly beaten by another character. I think the entire episode is very sad. Remembering her past, she wanders around The World after she has just disbanded the Crimson Knights. The episode ends with her crying in Tsukasa's arms.

In code geass:lelouch of the rebelion, my sad moment was when lelouch lost control of the geass at a VERY bad sentance, when L died in death note, when hughes died in full metal, and, oddly enough, when naruto smacked sakura when he was foxed up. Dunno why, but it sadend me more than it should have.

for me, definately the end of bebop :( just not right for such a fun loving character. and i dunno how 'sad' id say it was, but the most downbeat most horrible ending i think ive seen as at the end of berserk (i hope they'll continue it some day)

The last few scenes of Spirited Away had me very sad and thoughtful. The train scene was also pretty melancholic, with the ghost people and the lonely little house in the middle of the flooded plain.

Also, the final scene and closing credits of Cowboy Bebop. Some of the best shows and films are the ones with tragic or cathartic moments.

Which vol was that in Naruto or which episode where she dies and comes back to life i want to check it out.

Flarey

No, I think he meant the most recent chapter, where Pain devastates the entire Konoha. There was a brief scene showing Hinata okay after the attack.

Grave of the fireflies is the only movie that has ever made me cry. By far the saddest thing I have seen.

The end of FLCL gave me mixed feelings, and so did the end of Battle Royale manga.

Key the Metal Idol: When Sakura dies and Key-chan cries (really gotta watch this series...its pretty awesome)

One Piece: (Whoa boy....there's a lot of this but I'll just name a few)
1-The part where Bellemere/Berumeru(Nami's adopted mom) got killed by Arlong
2-Nico Robin's past scene (the last days of Ohara)
3-Chopper's past scene(where his adopted guardian dies and how he found out abt the 'cure' he made for him)

Rurounin Kenshin/Samurai-X:
The part where that depraved Sanji recalled his past where his love and orphan kids got killed off. That was much sad
