Generally I preffer a harder level of music, now the 'cores' of rock, where they're screaming and it's impossible to understand makes me sick, they take what CAN be good music, and slay it. You have to be able to sing decently if you're going to play music, so my prefference are as follows, Nightwish, Eisbrecher, Dethklok, and AC/DC.

It's interesting seeing all these people who are so anti-rap or hip hop. Is it because a lot of today's popular rap consists of guns, violence, sex, and girls in skimpy outfits? Funny... seems to me that is what a lot of anime is about too...

Seriously though, I consider myself to be a pretty well-rounded individual. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, from classical to classic rock, metal to rap, blues to the great standards of jazz. Coheed and Cambria, Michael Buble, Boston, Frank Sinatra, Eric Johnson, Iron Maiden, Journey, T.I., The Chemical Brothers, Jason Mraz, In Flames, Alanis Morrissette, Jonathan Coulton, Joe Satriani, Dropkick Murphys, and The Who are just a few samples of the music I listen to on a regular basis.

If you're think all rap is the same, may I try opening your minds to artists like Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Run DMC, Lupe Fiasco, MF Doom, and KRS-One. A lot of it is poignant social commentary and is a glimpse of black culture in yesterday's and today's society.

i hate it when people hate this kinda music or that kinda music... and thats mostly everyone.. a few of my friendswill only listen 1 or 2 different kinds of music and i HATE that!! im under the opinion that if you cant appreciate good music across all genres then i really dont think you appreciate music.

To be honest it really depends on how I'm feeling on that day. If I am happy and relaxed some Jack Johnson would do it for me, but on the days that I feel the world is against me I like the harder hitting gritty music.
