What would you like to see?

Hi everybody...

Every now and then when you decide to make additions and changes it is important to find out what it is that needs to be changed or even added.

So here's your chance to tell us what it is that you would like to see added or possibly changed.

I am interested in hearing from everybody...Established Members as well as New Members.

All comments and suggestions will be considered, and tossed around and we will see how many we can do.

Oh and I added a poll...hee hee it is annonymous in case people are shy about speaking.....:)

I will have to think on this one for a bit, but I know that this place needs changes. This is the slowest board I've seen in a long time. We need to attract more people, and not just more people, but more people who are going to actively post.

Well, since you asked... :tongue:

When I first joined it seemed like there were hardly any advertisements on hentaispy. Over time they have become more and more apparent, and recently I have noticed that they have become somewhat intrusive (putting links in our posts, making us look at an ad first before continuing). I love HS cause it's free and all, and if we need the ads to keep it that way, so be it. But they are annoying.
Until recently, I used to be able to right-click on an attached picture and choose "Save As...". Now when I try, it tries to save the HTML document that the attachment actually links to. It still works for other attachments (.zip, .rar, etc.), just not pictures. Being able to save directly helps when the pictures are posted individually.
Whenever I log in, I immediately click on "New Posts" and systematically go through each one, starting with the oldest. Sometimes I lose my connection or something, or if I've been gone awhile there may too many to look at in one night. In those cases, it registers as me having visited and I can't see which new posts I haven't seen anymore. It'd be nice if it remembered which posts you haven't looked at rather than which posts were changed since the last time you visited. (As an alternative, make it so you can search threads by date of last post without entering any keywords).

I've noticed that you opened the share zone to everyone, nice!! But now what's the difference between the share zone and the normal forums? I don't see one, since you're also allowing external links to H-content now. I say if possible, merge the share zone stuff into the rest of the forum and get rid of the share zone altogether. Otherwise we have two places to put everything; it's a bit unorganized IMO.

I can answer a couple right now.....Yes we need the advertisements....the sponsors are the ones that help keep the site Free......as the site begins to grow and we get more and more traffic we need to increase the amount of ads.

When you get logged out or you are not able to view them all...do you use the Quick link Button?...That will give you all the threads post in a 24 hour period...and it should have a break that says.."these threads have not been updated since your last visit.

Opening the share zone is not a permanent change....it is a way to get more people interested in the site....by allowing them to see some things that they normally would not...you can choose which area you want to post...it doesnt have to be in both.

Question number 2 I will have to get back to you on.....sorry :(

Sure if you have smilies make a post in General or Games and load them in there...they have to be added to the database...

Got one more for ya, which I remembered after a long series of posting the other day. The formatting is weird on attached pictures' thumbnails, it tries to fit as many as possible and line breaks when it should, but it also line breaks after exactly 6 pictures. If the thumbs are too wide, this makes for some weird formatting.

Attaching a pic so you can see what I'm talking about. Don't know if this is easy to change or not, but I think it used to be correct some time ago...

Hmm here's a new one! When you look at a thread, is it possible to display the date when the thread was created? Right now it only shows the date of the latest post.

The date should be there....if you go to the very first page 1st post of that thread it should have it...for example:

I think riceman64 refers to it possibly being viewable right on the page in a gallery that lists the threads. Like we show the date time and name of last poster. So he would not have to actually open the thread. And go to the 1st post, to obtain this info.

There is an option in the user control panel for the way that threads are dispalyed/layed out and the order...also the amount of posts that can be viewed per page.

Know this i kinda old...but it would be cool if there were group promotions that gave you higher limits on file sizes! =\ its a pain to have to break up folders to upload them ='(

nah, the 12 images per post is fine if you ask me. But when i download full doujins i usually have to break them up into several folders so i can upload them as zip files(easier to download for people).

i think the maximum file size of zips you can upload is around 5.7 mb?

I think the entire moderation before posting thing needs stressing a little more when joining and what effects it has.

I may have just been rash and not read everything I should have when joining, but tbh most people are as impatient as me. And i've noticed that after my joining there has been another person who has commented on this.
